The Paul James Project Headlines at Camden Assembly

Keith Bishop is proud to represent the incredible talent of Paul James, whose highly anticipated project is about to take centre stage. On Wednesday, October 8th, The Paul James Project will headline at the Camden Assembly, marking a major milestone with the launch of his debut album, Book of Memories.

A Breakthrough Moment

After 12 months of writing and refining, Book of Memories is set to propel the North London-born singer-songwriter into the spotlight. Already praised as “raw”, “emotive”, and “genuinely unforgettable,” the album has caught the attention of music legends including Coldplay’s Will Champion, who is a vocal supporter.

The record has been cut to vinyl at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, a fittingly iconic place for an album that is destined to make its mark. “I’ve given everything to this project and I’m beyond excited to share it with everyone,” says James. “Thank you to anyone who has supported me along this journey – this one is for you.”

More Than Music: A Remarkable Story

What makes Paul James stand out is not just his music but his extraordinary life story. Born in Hampstead to a working-class family, James left school at 14, embarking first on a path in sport. He played football for Watford FC as a teenager and later became an international hurdler. Music wasn’t on the cards until fate intervened.

A decade ago, James suffered a collapsed lung, a near-death experience that left him in intensive care. “My body went into shock, and my heart shut down – the lights went out,” he recalls. That profound moment became a turning point. Following emergency surgery and months of recovery, he picked up a guitar for the first time, discovering a passion that would change his life.

The Making of Book of Memories

James’ debut album is a deeply personal journey through grief, love, healing, and resilience. Each track reveals a different facet of his artistry:

  • A Matter of Time – An upbeat, crowd-pleasing anthem about mistakes and the healing power of time.
  • Speak To Me In Silence – Produced by Grammy-nominated Chris Potter (The Rolling Stones, The Verve), this track captures the raw emotion of losing his father, drawing comparisons to Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi.
  • Beautiful You Are – A heartfelt ballad exploring love, loss, and enduring connection, destined to be one of his defining songs.

James describes performing as a natural extension of his sporting background: “I would compare jamming to when you play five-a-side with the guys – it’s the same, getting together and having a buzz. I’m all about people and having great energy around me.”

The Road Ahead

Although he came to music later in life, Paul James is proof that second acts can be even more powerful than the first. With Book of Memories, he has created a record that resonates deeply – both sonically and emotionally.

As he prepares to headline Camden Assembly, James is not just launching an album – he’s sharing a piece of his soul with the world. And with industry buzz building, it’s clear this is just the beginning.

At Keith Bishop, we are proud to represent Paul James at this pivotal moment in his career and cannot wait to see Book of Memories reach the recognition it truly deserves.
